The Family 5: Five Minute Sermons for the Whole Family

$95.00

How do you create a service experience that engages children as much as adults? “The Family 5″ — that’s how! The “Kid’s Sermon” Re-imagined

“The Family 5” is a short five-minute sermon experience designed with both kids and grown-ups in mind. It’s fun, it’s easy, it’s interactive, and it’s what families will be talking about long after the church service is over.

“The Family 5” is what would traditionally be called a “kid’s sermon,” but we don’t call it that.

Why?

Because we’ve designed each message in a way that the WHOLE congregation, regardless of age, will learn from and enjoy. From little Timmy to great-aunt Myrtle, everyone will love “The Family 5.”

“The Family 5” comes with 14 weeks (3 months) of family sermon scripts, slides, coloring sheets, and sermon notes. It even comes with an intro video that alerts kids when it’s time for the family sermon to begin. As soon as kids hear the toe-tapping music, they’ll nearly jump out of their seats in excitement.

It’s everything you need to engage kids (and their grown-ups) throughout the entire service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is GO! Curriculum?

GO! is a chronological children’s ministry curriculum (for preschool and elementary) that immerses kids in biblical storytelling and helps them see how individual stories fit into the big story of God.

Each GO! unit is part of a 12-month scope and sequence that takes kids on a chronological journey through the Bible. The scope and sequence is designed to follow the Christian calendar so that the Christmas lessons land on Christmas and the Easter lessons land on Easter. The “Recommended Use Dates” indicate where the unit falls within the one-year curriculum calendar. You are able to use the unit at any time of the year that works best for you, but by following the “Recommended Use Dates,” you can easily transition into using the other GO! units to tell the remainder of the Big Bible Story. Click here to view the curriculum calendar.

*** There will be glimpses of God’s salvation plan throughout the year, but there will be four lessons where that plan is communicated clearly and kids will have an opportunity to respond. Those lessons are denoted with *** next to the lesson title.

How is GO! different from other children’s curriculum?

• It’s chronological, meaning the lessons take kids through the Bible in order, but uses different stories each year throughout our 3 year scope and sequence.
• Each 4‑5 week block uses a different storytelling method (themes, props, games) to keep things fresh and engaging.
• It’s designed to be interactive, fun, and transformational — kids participate in telling the story, not just passively receiving it.
• There are built-in volunteer training, parent resources, and media tools to support implementation.

What does a typical GO! lesson include?

Each lesson includes:
• Leader preparation / training content
• Setup instructions and supply list

• Customizable large and small group lessons

• Introduction / community builder
• Bible story (interactive storytelling)
• Application activities / object lessons
• Reflect & Respond (quiet time for prayer, journaling, etc.)
• Small group activities (discussion, Bible memory, etc.)
• Parent “GO! Home Guide” for reinforcement at home

• Dynamic graphics and media

Professional illustrations

• Tech instructions

What ages is GO! designed for?

GO! Curriculum is designed for children ages 3 through 5th grade. The Preschool curriculum serves ages 3–5, while the Elementary curriculum serves Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Can churches join GO! at any time?

Yes — churches can jump in anytime. GO! includes “Big Bible Story” reviews to help people catch up and align with the overall sequence.

Are holiday lessons (Easter, Christmas, etc.) included or aligned?

Yes. GO!’s scope and sequence is aligned with the Christian calendar so that holiday lessons fit naturally within the flow.

What does GO! cost?

Pricing depends on the level and package. We offer Basic and Premium packages. For example, the basic elementary subscription is $660/year and basic preschool is $480/year. Premium plans include all curriculum materials plus video-driven lessons. You can also purchase individual units instead of a full-year subscription. To see all the pricing options visit here

Can I cancel or pause my subscription?

Subscriptions are set for 12 months. You can cancel future payments through your account. If you need to cancel your subscription, you can see our cancellation policy here

Are discounts available for multiple campuses or churches in need?

Yes. There’s a 25% discount for additional campuses purchasing the same subscription. Assistance or scholarships may also be available for churches facing financial challenges. Please complete this form to apply for a need-based scholarship. If you are interested in a different payment schedule like quarterly, please email info@gocurriculum.com.

What software or formats are used?

GO! is delivered digitally. The lessons are in Word and the media files are a mixture of jpegs, pdfs, MP3s, and MP4s.

Can GO! be used in hybrid or online settings (for families at home)?

Yes! Because the video packages include video resources and an online video platform, churches can extend reach to families who aren’t physically present.

Can I purchase just one or a few units instead of the full year?

Yes. Individual units (4–5 lessons) are available for purchase. You can purchase a basic unit (no teaching videos) or a premium unit (includes the Journey Today Show or Topher Time Videos). See the STORE for available units.

Do lessons require special or expensive supplies?

Lesson plans come with a supply list designed to use affordable or readily available materials.

What if our church and/or volunteer team is small or not experienced in children’s ministry?

No problem!! GO! is built to support volunteers: training content, video options, and customizable lessons help reduce the burden. Our curriculum provides clear, comprehensive scripts that guide leaders step-by-step, so they know exactly what to say and do when leading small group activities or teaching large group Bible lessons. The teaching videos can further fill in gaps with video-led segments.

Why don’t the preschool and elementary lessons line up week-to-week?

Great question!  Preschoolers and elementary kids both learn best when teaching is designed specifically for their age, attention span, and developmental stage. That’s why GO! uses the same overall scope and sequence for both age groups, but does not match the weekly lessons exactly.

Here’s what that means:

  • Same big journey, different pace.
Both preschool and elementary follow the same big story of the Bible, in the same order, all year long. But preschoolers move more slowly and repeat key ideas so they can really absorb them.
  • Preschoolers need more repetition.
Little ones learn best when they hear the same Big Idea and memory verse for several weeks. If we forced them to match elementary pacing, they’d move too quickly to fully understand the concepts.
  • Elementary kids need more depth.
Older kids are ready for more complex storytelling and faster movement through Scripture. If they had to match preschool pacing, they’d feel held back.
  • Families can still talk about church together.
Even though they aren’t studying the same story each week, they are traveling the same path through Scripture. Parents can easily help everyone connect what they’re learning.

Bottom line:
Preschool and elementary follow the same big Bible storyline, but at the pace and depth that helps each age group thrive. This gives every child the best chance to understand, remember, and grow in their faith.

Can I see your full-year scope and sequence?

Absolutely! You can view the full scope and sequence of the year, detailing each Bible story, Big Idea, and memory verse for both Preschool and Elementary, on our “Scope & Sequence” page. Click here.
